Learning Curve Group Charity Fundraiser

Sometimes a week doesn’t quite go as expected .. then I got a last-minute email.  “Can you provide some Swing Dancers for a gig on Saturday?” .. ermm … maybe?  I then spent the next 24 hours calling everyone that I knew who’d be up for dancing in front of a crowd of people at a charity fundraiser just up the road at Hardwick Hall.

The good news was that I just managed to pull it off!  With 5 other dancers, we headed to Hardwick Hall with the brief .. give a Performance and follow with a short Charelston follow along class.

One of the things I love about the Swing community is just how inclusive and welcoming it is.  I wouldn’t have been able to pull this off if it wasn’t for all the other wonderful Swing groups in the area.  It’s no mean feat finding available, willing and experienced dancers at such short notice but with all these amazing people we managed to work it out.

Learning Curve Group hold a yearly charity ball and this years theme was VE Day and they ended the night dancing to the amazing Strictly Smokin’ Big Band who I incidentally had play for our wedding!
