Dance for me has always been about bringing people together and over the last few years there have been seldom opportunities to do so. Darlington’s Festival of Dance aims to bring together dancers from across the town regardless of their age or background to just enjoy each other company and this year was no exception.
I felt very privileged to be asked to take part by giving a short performance of the Shim Sham as well as give a mini workshop. With over 500 dancers and the general public watching I tried my hardest to not be put off by the crowds. The weather was perfect with the sun shining. There were other great performances with so many different styles from Hip Hop, Salsa, Zumba and also show girls. All in all a fantastic day!
