We offer Beginner friendly & challenging intermediate partnered swing dance lessons as well as solo Charleston classes in a fun and relaxed environment to adults in Darlington.
Come and learn the dance craze that took the Swing era by storm and meet new people. Swing Dance is an umbrella term for a variety of dance styles. Mainly dancing Lindy Hop and Charleston which can be danced to a variety of tempos makes it suitable for all ages and abilities.

I am a complete beginner - old man with two left feet - joined the group and felt very welcome - got moving and after six week can string a few ‘ moves’ together - great fun !

Really enjoy Angeline’s classes. I attended the six week solo class to learn the Tranky Doo and it was great. Classes were fun and social - I always came away with a smile - and the catch up videos were really helpful for practising at home. Looking forward to the next solo course and hoping to attend partnered classes as soon as we’re able to rotate partners again 🙂

Like anyone starting something new, I was nervous about trying out these classes.
Would I look stupid? Could I learn some steps ( or even one)? What if I turned up alone?
From my first session, I received a really warm welcome from all the class participants who were at different stages of their dance journey and also from the teacher, Angeline.
Everything was broken down into small steps and when I couldn’t get something , everyone helped.
Angeline was amazing - kind, funny and a great teacher - and now a great friend.
Angeline and 6th Street Swing started me on my love of swing dancing and I’ve attended many classes, workshops and socials and made so many friends along the way.
If you fancy giving it a go, do it. Not only will you learn a new skill, you’ll also be exercising, meeting new people and opening yourself to so many opportunities and nights of dancing.
I would recommend signing up for a set of lessons. You will be hooked - I guarantee it.
